As membership secretary and a coach of a running club I have several generic e-mail address e.g. Membership@a_b_c, beginners@a_b_c. What is interesting is the way people write e-mails to generic e-mail addresses vs named e-mail accounts. When I receive e-mail to the generic accounts they are curt, blunt and almost rude. This rarely happens when I get e-mails to my named accounts. We have to have the generic accounts as part of anti-spam, but it is a shame this results in such impersonal communications.
